Philip Barantini

Following 20 years of performing in front of the camera – including roles in the hugely successful ‘Band of Brothers’, ‘Chernobyl’, ‘Ned Kelly’ and ‘Humans’ – Philip Barantini transitioned into directing.

His award-winning debut short film ‘Seconds out’, written by and starring Robbie O’Neill, was the precursor to him creating the short film ‘Boiling Point’, starring Stephen Graham. ‘Boiling Point’ was then adapted into the hotly anticipated one-shot feature of the same name in 2021.

It garnered glowing reviews from critics and audiences, who have called the film “dizzying” [The Guardian] and “utterly compelling” [Variety].  A subsequent five-part ‘Boiling Point’ TV series aired on the BBC to critical and public acclaim.

2024 saw Barantini direct all four episodes of the TV series Adolescence, starring Stephen Graham and Ashley Walters. The series exploded into the cultural conversation, broke TV viewing records and was described as “The closest thing to TV perfection in decades” [The Guardian].

Barantini’s other directing credits include ITV series ‘Malpractice,’ BBC series ‘The Responder’ starring Martin Freeman and feature film ‘Villain’ starring Craig Fairbrass.
